Whoopi was born under the official name Johnson, Caryn Elaine on November 13th, 1955. Known to her close friends as Da Whoop, she has been a credited actor since the 1985 film The Color Purple.

Whoopi Goldberg is a bankable leading actor on the silver screen. She has starred in seven films including the 1996 comedy film Bogus as the character Harriet Franklin, the 1996 comedy movie Eddie playing Edwina 'Eddie' Franklin and the 1995 comedy release Boys on the Side cast as Jane.
