Tim was born under the official name Robbins, Timothy Francis on October 16th, 1958. He has been a credited actor since the 1985 film The Sure Thing.

Tim Robbins is a bankable leading actor on the silver screen. He has starred in seven films including the 2006 biography film Catch a Fire as the character Nic Vos, the 2003 drama movie Code 46 playing William Geld and the 1994 crime release The Shawshank Redemption cast as Andy Dufresne.

Tim has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in eighteen films including: the 2013 comedy film Life of Crime as the character Frank Dawson, the 2011 action movie Green Lantern playing Hammond and the 2008 comedy release The Lucky Ones cast as Cheaver.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2005 adventure film War of the Worlds, which brought in $234,000,000 at the box office.

Tim Robbins has directed on numerous occassions including: Dead Man Walking (1995). In 1995 Tim Robbins produced his first movie, the crime film Dead Man Walking. Since then he went on to produce the drama film Cradle Will Rock in 1999.

Tim is a cultural icon, having been featured on the cover of at least six magazines, captured in more than four pictorials, interviewed in over fifteen publications and featured in seven magazine articles.

As an actor Tim Robbins has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences on one occasion. He won the Oscar for Best Actor In A Supporting Role for his role as Dave Boyle in the 2003 movie Mystic River.
