Taraji was born under the official name Henson, Taraji Penda on September 11th, 1970. She has been a credited actor since the 2001 film Baby Boy.

To date, Taraji has only starred in the 2013 drama movie From the Rough. Taraji P. Henson has yet to establish a position as a bankable star.

Taraji has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. She has appeared in eleven films including: the 2014 crime film No Good Deed as the character Terry, the 2014 comedy movie Think Like a Man Too playing Lauren and the 2012 comedy release Think Like a Man cast as Lauren.

Her most commercially successful project to date has been the 2010 action film The Karate Kid, which brought in $177,000,000 at the box office.

In 2014 Taraji P. Henson produced her first movie, the crime film No Good Deed.

Taraji has garnered moderate media attention, having been featured on the cover of at least three magazines, captured in more than one pictorials, interviewed in over one publications and featured in six magazine articles.

As an actor Taraji P. Henson has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences on one occasion. She was nominated for the Oscar for Best Actress In A Supporting Role for her role as Queenie in the 2008 movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
