Stacy was born under the official name Keach Jr., Walter Stacy on June 2nd, 1941. He has been a credited actor since the 1968 film The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.

To date, Stacy has only starred in the 2001 action movie Birds of Passage. Stacy Keach has yet to establish a position as a bankable star.

Stacy has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in eighteen films including: the 2014 adventure film Planes: Fire & Rescue as the character Skipper, the 2014 drama movie If I Stay playing Gramps and the 2013 comedy release Nebraska cast as Ed Pegram.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2012 action film The Bourne Legacy, which brought in $113,000,000 at the box office.

In 1980 Stacy Keach produced his first movie, the history film The Long Riders.

Stacy has garnered moderate media attention, having been featured on the cover of at least three magazines, captured in more than two pictorials, interviewed in over six publications and featured in three magazine articles.
