Spike was born under the official name Lee, Shelton Jackson on March 20th, 1957. He has been a credited actor since the 1988 film School Daze.

Spike is a recognizable supporting cast member who's acting range makes him the top choice for a variety of roles. He has appeared in six films including: the 1996 comedy film Girl 6 as the character Jimmy, the 1994 comedy movie Crooklyn playing Snuffy and the 1992 biography release Malcolm X cast as Shorty.

Spike Lee has earned salaries up to $3,000,000 for his acting. His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2006 crime film Inside Man, which brought in $89,000,000 at the box office.

Spike Lee has directed on numerous occassions including: School Daze (1988), Do the Right Thing (1989) and Mo' Better Blues (1990). In 1988 Spike Lee produced his first movie, the comedy film School Daze. Since then he went on to produce twenty-six movies including: Do the Right Thing (1989) and Mo' Better Blues (1990) among others .
