Ryan was born under the official name III, Charles Samuel Eldridge Patrick Ryan O'Neal on April 20th, 1941. He has been a credited actor since the 1970 film Love Story.

Ryan O'Neal is a dependable leading actor. He has starred in four films including the 1997 comedy film An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn as the character James Edmunds, the 1987 comedy movie Tough Guys Don't Dance playing Tim Madden and the 1976 comedy release Nickelodeon cast as Leo Harrigan.
