Richard was born on July 31st, 1947. He died on March 28th, 2013 in University Hospital, Coventry, West Midlands, England, UK (complications following heart surgery). He has been a credited actor since the 1986 film Shanghai Surprise.

Richard has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in fifteen films including: the 2011 adventure film Hugo as the character Monsieur Frick, the 2011 action movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides playing King George and the 2008 comedy release Bedtime Stories cast as Barry Nottingham.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2001 adventure film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which brought in $318,000,000 at the box office.

Richard has garnered moderate media attention, having been interviewed in over two publications and featured in four magazine articles.
