Queen was born under the official name Owens, Dana Elaine on March 18th, 1970. Known to her close friends as Hip-Hop's First Lady, she has been a credited actor since the 1991 film House Party 2.

Queen Latifah is a dependable leading actor. She has starred in three films including the 2012 comedy film Joyful Noise as the character Vi Rose Hill, the 2006 adventure movie Last Holiday playing Georgia Byrd and the 2004 action release Taxi cast as Isabelle 'Belle' Williams.

Queen has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. She has appeared in fifteen films including: the 2011 comedy film The Dilemma as the character Susan Warner, the 2009 action movie Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs playing Ellie and the 2008 drama release The Secret Life of Bees cast as August Boatwright.
