Peter was born on October 27th, 1953. He has been a credited actor since the 1979 film When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder?.

Peter has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in ten films including: the 1999 action film Chill Factor as the character Colonel Andrew Brynner, the 1998 action movie Mighty Joe Young playing Garth and the 1996 adventure release Marco Polo: Haperek Ha'aharon cast as Rusticello.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 1990 action film The Hunt for Red October, which brought in $122,000,000 at the box office.

Peter has stayed out of the media limelight, having been featured on the cover of at least one magazines, captured in more than one pictorials and interviewed in over one publications.

As an actor Peter Firth has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences on one occasion. He was nominated for the Oscar for Best Actor In A Supporting Role for his role as Alan Strang in the 1977 movie Equus.
