Nicol was born on September 14th, 1936. He died on December 16th, 2011 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands (esophageal cancer). He has been a credited actor since the 1976 film Robin and Marian.

Nicol was a dependable supporting cast member. He has appeared in four films including: the 1997 action film Spawn as the character Cogliostro, the 1985 adventure movie Return to Oz playing The Nome King and the 1985 adventure release Return to Oz cast as Dr. Worley.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 1997 action film Spawn, which brought in $55,000,000 at the box office.

Nicol has stayed out of the media limelight, having been featured in two magazine articles.
