Ming-Na was born under the official name Wen, Ming-Na on November 20th, 1963. She has been a credited actor since the 1993 film The Joy Luck Club.

Ming-Na Wen has yet to establish a position as a bankable star. She has starred in two films including the 2001 action movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within as the character Doctor Aki Ross and the 1998 adventure film Mulan playing Mulan.
