Mickey was born under the official name Jr., Ninian Joseph Yule on September 23rd, 1920. He died on April 6th, 2014 in North Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA. Known to his close friends as The Mick, he has been a credited actor since the 1937 film Captains Courageous.

Mickey Rooney was a dependable leading actor. He has starred in five films including the 1985 adventure film The Care Bears Movie as the character Mr. Cherrywood, the 1981 adventure movie The Fox and the Hound playing Tod and the 1948 musical release Summer Holiday cast as Richard Miller.

Mickey has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in twenty-three films including: the 2015 horror film Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as the character Mr. Louis, the 2012 drama movie The Woods playing Lester and the 2011 comedy release Bamboo Shark cast as Brooks.

Mickey Rooney has earned salaries up to $250,000 for his acting. His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2006 action film Night at the Museum, which brought in $251,000,000 at the box office.

Mickey has garnered moderate media attention, having been featured on the cover of at least two magazines, captured in more than one pictorials, interviewed in over five publications and featured in five magazine articles. He has been the subject of at least four books.

As an actor Mickey Rooney has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences on one occasion. He was nominated for the Oscar for Best Actor In A Supporting Role for his role as Henry Dailey in the 1979 movie The Black Stallion.
