Jonathan was born under the official name Price, John on June 1st, 1947. He has been a credited actor since the 1983 film Something Wicked This Way Comes.

To date, Jonathan has only starred in the 1985 sci-fi movie Brazil. Jonathan Pryce has yet to establish a position as a bankable star.

Jonathan has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in sixteen films including: the 2013 action film G.I. Joe: Retaliation as the character President, the 2008 comedy movie Bedtime Stories playing Marty Bronson and the 2007 action release Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End cast as Governor Weatherby Swann.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2006 action film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which brought in $423,000,000 at the box office.
