Jessica was born under the official name Tandy, Jessie Alice on June 7th, 1909. She died on September 11th, 1994 in Easton, Connecticut, USA (ovarian cancer). She has been a credited actor since the 1945 film The Valley of Decision.

To date, Jessica has only starred in the 1994 drama movie Camilla. Jessica Tandy has yet to establish a position as a bankable star.

Her first Oscar was for Best Actress In A Leading Role for her portrayal of Daisy Werthan in the 1989 film Driving Miss Daisy. Jessica Tandy was also nominated for Best Actress In A Supporting Role for her role as Ninny Threadgoode in the 1991 movie Fried Green Tomatoes .
