James Gammon

James was born under the official name Gammon, James Richard on April 20th, 1940. He died on July 16th, 2010 in Costa Mesa, California, USA (cancer of adrenal glands and liver). He has been a credited actor since the 1987 film Ironweed.

James has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in sixteen films including: the 2009 horror film The New Daughter as the character Roger Wayne, the 2006 horror movie Altered playing Sheriff Henderson and the 2006 western release The Far Side of Jericho cast as The Preacher.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2003 drama film Cold Mountain, which brought in $96,000,000 at the box office.

James has stayed out of the media limelight, having been featured in two magazine articles.
