Giancarlo was born under the official name Esposito, Giancarlo Giuseppe Alessandro on April 26th, 1958. He has been a credited actor since the 1981 film Taps.

To date, Giancarlo has only starred in the 1995 comedy movie Smoke. Giancarlo Esposito has yet to establish a position as a bankable star.

Giancarlo has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in eighteen films including: the 2010 drama film Rabbit Hole as the character Auggie, the 2008 drama movie Gospel Hill playing Dr. Palmer and the 2006 drama release Sherrybaby cast as Parole Officer Hernandez.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 1997 action film Nothing to Lose, which brought in $44,000,000 at the box office.

Beyond acting, Giancarlo Esposito was the director of the 2008 movie drama Gospel Hill. In 2008 Giancarlo Esposito produced his first movie, the drama film Gospel Hill.
