Gary was born under the official name Oldman, Leonard Gary on March 21st, 1958. Known to his close friends as Gaz, he has been a credited actor since the 1986 film Sid and Nancy.

Gary Oldman is a dependable leading actor. He has starred in five films including the 2003 crime film Sin as the character Charlie Strom, the 2000 drama movie The Contender playing Shelly Runyon and the 1993 crime release Romeo Is Bleeding cast as Jack Grimaldi.

Gary has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in thirty films including: the 2015 thriller film Man Down as the character Captain Peyton, the 2014 action movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes playing Dreyfus and the 2014 action release RoboCop cast as Dr. Dennett Norton.

Gary Oldman has earned salaries up to $5,000,000 for his acting. His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2008 action film The Dark Knight, which brought in $535,000,000 at the box office.

Gary Oldman has directed on numerous occassions including: Nil by Mouth (1997). In 1997 Gary Oldman produced his first movie, the drama film Nil by Mouth. Since then he went on to produce the drama film The Contender in 2000.
