Forest was born under the official name Whitaker, Forest Steven on July 15th, 1961. He has been a credited actor since the 1982 film Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Forest Whitaker is a bankable leading actor on the silver screen. He has starred in six films including the 2013 drama film Repentance as the character Angel Sanchez, the 2013 biography movie The Butler playing Cecil Gaines and the 2010 comedy release Our Family Wedding cast as Brad Boyd.

Forest has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in twenty-nine films including: the 2013 action film The Last Stand as the character Agent John Bannister, the 2012 action movie Freelancers playing LaRue and the 2011 action release Catch .44 cast as Ronny.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 1986 drama film Platoon, which brought in $139,000,000 at the box office.

Forest Whitaker has directed on numerous occassions including: Waiting to Exhale (1995), Hope Floats (1998) and Satchmo (2015). In 2007 Forest Whitaker produced his first movie, the drama film Ripple Effect. Since then he went on to produce seven movies including: Monte Carlo (2011) and Repentance (2013) among others .

Forest is a fan favorite, having been featured on the cover of at least two magazines, captured in more than three pictorials, interviewed in over seven publications and featured in thirteen magazine articles.

As an actor Forest Whitaker has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences on one occasion. He won the Oscar for Best Actor In A Leading Role for his role as Idi Amin in the 2006 movie The Last King of Scotland.
