Elisabeth was born under the official name Shue, Elisabeth Judson on October 6th, 1963. Known to her close friends as Lisa, she has been a credited actor since the 1984 film The Karate Kid.

Elisabeth Shue has yet to establish a position as a bankable star. She has starred in two films including the 2000 action movie Hollow Man as the character Linda McKay and the 1999 comedy film Molly playing Molly McKay.

Elisabeth has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. She has appeared in seventeen films including: the 2012 horror film House at the End of the Street as the character Sarah, the 2012 comedy movie Hope Springs playing Karen, The Bartender and the 2012 biography release Chasing Mavericks cast as Kristy Moriarity.

Her most commercially successful project to date has been the 1989 adventure film Back to the Future Part II, which brought in $118,000,000 at the box office.

In 2007 Elisabeth Shue produced her first movie, the biography film Gracie.

Elisabeth is a cultural icon, having been featured on the cover of at least ten magazines, captured in more than eight pictorials, interviewed in over nine publications and featured in seven magazine articles.

As an actor Elisabeth Shue has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences on one occasion. She was nominated for the Oscar for Best Actress In A Leading Role for her role as Sera in the 1995 movie Leaving Las Vegas.
