Edward was born under the official name Asner, Eddie on November 15th, 1929. He has been a credited actor since the 1986 film The Christmas Star.

Edward Asner is a dependable leading actor. He has starred in four films including the 2009 adventure film Up as the character Carl Fredricksen, the 2005 comedy movie Crab Orchard playing Grandfather Stiles and the 1987 adventure release Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night cast as Scalawag.

Edward is a recognizable supporting cast member who's acting range makes him the top choice for a variety of roles. He has appeared in seven films including: the 2012 comedy film Should've Been Romeo as the character Charlie, the 2012 action movie Foodfight! playing Mr. Leonard and the 2011 comedy release Hopelessly in June cast as Rabbi.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2009 adventure film Up, which brought in $293,000,000 at the box office.
