Dennis was born under the official name Quaid, Dennis William on April 9th, 1954. He has been a credited actor since the 1980 film The Long Riders.

Dennis Quaid is among a small handful of elite super star actors with global appeal. He has starred in fifteen films including the 2013 comedy film Movie 43 as the character Charlie Wessler, the 2012 drama movie The Words playing Clay Hammond and the 2011 horror release Beneath the Darkness cast as Ely.

Dennis has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in seventeen films including: the 2012 comedy film Playing for Keeps as the character Carl, the 2012 comedy movie What to Expect When You're Expecting playing Ramsey and the 2011 biography release Soul Surfer cast as Tom Hamilton.

Dennis Quaid has earned salaries up to $60,000 for his acting. His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2004 action film The Day After Tomorrow, which brought in $187,000,000 at the box office.
