David was born under the official name Paymer, David Charles on August 30th, 1954. He has been a credited actor since the 1986 film Night of the Creeps.

To date, David has only starred in the 2000 comedy movie Enemies of Laughter. David Paymer has yet to establish a position as a bankable star.

David has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in twenty-three films including: the 2012 comedy film The Five-Year Engagement as the character Pete Solomon, the 2011 horror movie Twixt playing Sam and the 2009 horror release Drag Me to Hell cast as Mr. Jacks.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 1991 comedy film City Slickers, which brought in $124,000,000 at the box office.

David has stayed out of the media limelight, having been featured in two magazine articles.

As an actor David Paymer has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences on one occasion. He was nominated for the Oscar for Best Actor In A Supporting Role for his role as Stan in the 1992 movie Mr. Saturday Night.
