Clancy was born under the official name III, Clarence J. Brown on January 5th, 1959. He has been a credited actor since the 1986 film Highlander.

To date, Clancy has only starred in the 2008 horror movie The Burrowers. Clancy Brown has yet to establish a position as a bankable star.

Clancy has made such a successful career in supporting roles, that it actually surpasses most leading actor's careers. He has appeared in sixteen films including: the 2014 drama film When the Game Stands Tall as the character Mickey Ryan, the 2013 action movie Homefront playing Sheriff Keith Rodrigue and the 2013 horror release Nothing Left to Fear cast as Pastor Kingsman.

His most commercially successful project to date has been the 2011 action film Cowboys & Aliens, which brought in $100,000,000 at the box office.

Clancy has stayed out of the media limelight, having been featured on the cover of at least two magazines and interviewed in over three publications.
