Claire was born under the official name Blume, Patricia Claire on February 15th, 1931. She has been a credited actor since the 1958 film The Buccaneer.

Claire is a recognizable supporting cast member who's acting range makes her the top choice for a variety of roles. She has appeared in six films including: the 2006 comedy film Kalamazoo? as the character Eleanor, the 1996 action movie Daylight playing Eleanor Trilling and the 1989 comedy release Crimes and Misdemeanors cast as Miriam Rosenthal.

Her most commercially successful project to date has been the 1981 adventure film Clash of the Titans, which brought in $41,000,000 at the box office.
