Kurtz, Martin Sheen as Captain Benjamin L. Willard and Robert Duvall as Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore. Apocalypse Now was produced for $32,000,000. Since it's release it has grossed over $5,000,000 in ticket sales and $38,000,000 in rental and home sales.

Apocalypse Now was recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences in seven categories. It won the Oscar for cinematography and sound. It was also an Oscar nominee for art direction, directing, film editing, best picture and writing (screenplay based on material from another medium).
